PERSONAL SYSTEMS ARCHIVEEST. IN PROGRESS

A living record by Saw Luke Loo (Luke) Wah

I build systems.
I also happen to be one.

An engineer, a set of moving parts, and the stories connecting them. This is a closer look at the work—and the person behind it.

THE ARCHIVE

Four ways in.
One person throughout.

Not a list of credentials. A collection of contexts: what I make, where I came from, what I’m considering, and what exists beyond the work.

01 / BUILD

Make complexity
feel understandable.

I work on the infrastructure people rarely see and depend on every day: provisioning, control planes, and the systems that make change safe at scale.

02 / JOURNEY

A few coordinates.
No straight lines.

Place is part of the system, too. A brief map of the chapters I can name so far.

1998 Yangon, MyanmarBorn in Yangon, where the story starts. ORIGIN

I was born in Yangon, Myanmar, in 1998.

2015–2017 United World College Red Cross Nordic · Flekke, NorwayLeft Myanmar at barely 17 for high school and the IB programme in a community spanning 100+ countries. WIDER WORLD

For two years I studied the IB programme at UWC Red Cross Nordic. Roommates and friends from Lebanon, Nepal, Ghana, Malaysia, Norway, Portugal, Ethiopia, and many other places became friends for life. Living and learning together widened my view of the world: beyond countries and backgrounds, I saw how much humanity we share.

2017 A new start in the United StatesMoved to the U.S. on a full scholarship, carrying a single suitcase. NEXT CHAPTER

After Norway, I moved to the United States on a full scholarship. I arrived with one suitcase and began the next chapter of my education and life.

2017–2021 Gainesville, FloridaB.S. in Computer Science, University of Florida. FOUNDATIONS

Started August 2017 and completed the degree in May 2021.

2019 Nexlabs · Yangon, MyanmarSoftware engineering intern; PHP Laravel APIs and Google Cloud Vision integration. FIRST BUILD

Worked on a budgeting tool and an Ingredient2Recipe chatbot, including image label recognition with Google Cloud Vision.

2020 Citrix · Fort LauderdaleBuilt an Azure-integrated .NET Core maintenance bot used for data updates across 4,000+ customers. AUTOMATION

The integration used Azure Time Trigger Functions, Service Bus, Queues, and Key Vault.

2021–NOW Cloud platform engineeringJoined Citrix as a Software Engineer; promoted to Senior Software Engineer. Focused on provisioning, control planes, and reliable multi-tenant systems. IN PROGRESS

Additional chapters include disaster recovery drills and multi-region expansion, including Western Europe and regulated environments.

03 / THINK

Questions I’m
keeping open.

FIELD NOTES / 000

AI agents raise a practical question: how do we use their speed without settling for AI slop? I’m interested in keeping the work grounded in sound engineering, thoughtful system design, and architecture that holds up beyond the first draft.

04 / LIFE

Good food,
good company,
questionable golf.

I love cooking dishes from cuisines around the world—and I’m a very enthusiastic eater, too. Give me a new town to wander, a cozy café, video games, or a good manga. Best of all: time with family and friends. I golf occasionally; my swing is still a work in progress, and the ball has yet to offer useful feedback.

LIFE LATELY MORE STORIES TO COME

S.

Still becoming.
Still building.
